Rousseau Management’s leadership team collectively has over 150+ years of experience in Maine’s healthcare industry. In all those years, our team has faced many ups and downs, but have always come out on top on the other side. Being a small family owned healthcare provider enables us to hone in on all the skills we have learned over the years. Covid continues to stress the healthcare industry across our nation stretching and stressing staff to the max, but Rousseau Management’s team pushes through. We are one of the few companies in the whole state who does not have agency staff and that is a true testament to all our teams. Without experienced leaders who continue to train and instill the knowledge they have learned, it makes being successful very difficult.

Having all our facilities close by allows us to constantly keep our eye on our communities. They are and always will be a part of our everyday lives. Our leadership team strives to provide high quality healthcare opportunities for families and their loved ones

Meet the Team

  • Mitch Rousseau

    President

    Mitch is second generation Rousseau having taken over for his dad and our founder Richard Rousseau some 40 ought years ago. From the very beginning Mitch has instilled the importance of family in each of our facilities which is clearly reflected in looking at the tenure of many of our long term employees.

    Mitch and his wife Janet have consistently invested in the town of Brunswick where they raised their three kids Jessie, Megan, and Ryan. Mitch’s first purchase was a 64-bed assisted living facility Dionne Commons which he still runs today. A few years later he built Horizons Living & Rehab, a 65-bed nursing and rehab facility right next to Dionne. When the Brunswick Naval Air Station closed in 2011, Mitch bought the hotel the Navy had built and turned it into two facilities that compliment one another, Coastal Landing & Coastal Shores. Coastal Landing is a 82-bed independent living facility and Coastal Shores is a 40-bed assisted living facility. Mitch continued to add to Rousseau Managements portfolio with the purchase of Neighbors, a companion care company that services Brunswick and its surrounding towns.

    As Mitch contemplates retirement, he is confident in what the future holds for Rousseau Management as he passes the torch to a third generation Rousseau, his son Ryan.

  • Lesley Davison

    Chief Financial Officer

    Lesley joined the Rousseau team in January 1990 – starting as a facility bookkeeper before joining the home office team in 1991. A new challenge presented itself in 1995 and Lesley took on the role of Residential Care Administrator. While Lesley loved her time with the residents/families she missed the accounting work. Lesley returned to the home office in 1998 to become the Director of Financial Operations and there she continues. Lesley truly believes that teamwork is the key to success!

    Outside of work, Lesley enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. She loves reading, watching Marvel movies, and rooting for the New England Patriots.

  • Ryan Rousseau

    Chief Operations Officer

    Ryan is the son of our President, Mitch Rousseau. Growing up he worked for Rousseau Management helping maintain the grounds in the summer and did maintenance work in the winters.

    He was born in Brunswick and educated at North Yarmouth Academy, University of New England, and Endicott College where he received his MBA in Healthcare Management.

    While he was obtaining his MBA he worked for one of Maine’s best and brightest businesses Ocean Properties Hotels Resorts & Affiliates. He helped them open and manage a brand new long-term stay Homewood Suites by Hilton in Augusta, ME. Here he helped staff and learn to manage different departments which directly translated into his move to healthcare with Rousseau in 2018.

    With Mitch taking a well deserved step back the past few years he has slowly handed the reins over to a third generation Rousseau who looks to continue his family’s legacy.
